Dr. Valentine Ogbu is a Nigerian orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma surgery and joint replacement.[1][2]

Education and Training

Dr. Ogbu obtained his medical degree from the University of Benin, Nigeria, graduating in 2003. He completed his orthopedic and trauma[3] training at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu. He is a fellow of both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.[4]

In 2015, he was awarded a SICOT fellowship and underwent further specialized training in arthroplasty and trauma at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India. He has also completed AO Basic and Advanced Trauma courses, as well as the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course. Additionally, he has participated in the Zimmer Biomet Primary Knee Instructional Course.[5]

Career

Dr. Ogbu joined Cedarcrest Hospitals as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in 2015. His expertise includes total hip and knee replacement, trauma surgery, and general orthopedics. He has attained proficiency in the operative management of limb fractures and pediatric fractures.

Contributions to Medical Training

Dr. Ogbu has been actively involved in the training of postgraduate orthopedic residents during their clinical postings at Cedarcrest Hospitals. His work contributes to the advancement of orthopedic education and the development of future specialists in the field.[6]
